Mubarak Hospital, a general hospital with various specialties in service of the people of the J&K State, was commissioned on 10th of August 2000. Its paramedic training wing, the Mubarak Paramedical Training Institute started functioning from 9th of December 2004. Till 2008, both the hospital & the paramedic training institute worked in private capacity under the able administration of Dr Nusrat Yusuf, the adorable wife of Dr Niyaz Ahmad Jan. By the twist of fate, however, we lost her to cancer on 2nd of June 2008.
The sudden demise of Dr Nusrat, the pious and generous daughter of the Late Professor Muhammad Yusuf Shah left the family shattered. Service of the suffering humanity was her greatest concern and she always strived to allay human agony. In order to keep her noble mission alive, a charitable trust was formed to coordinate and manage the day to day work of the hospital & its associated paramedical training institute.
Since June 2008, the Mubarak Hospital & Paramedic Institute are working under the aegis of the ‘Dr Nusrat Memorial Public Charitable Trust’.
The Mubarak Hospital is a 25 bedded general purpose hospital with General Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and other modern specialities. There are two fully equipped operation theatres and an additional theatre for Ophthalmology (eye) & Otorhinolaryngology (ENT).
